At Wanberg Associates, our goal is to create landscapes that are impeccably designed, respond ecologically and sustainably to the character of the site, and express the personality of the people for whom they were created.

We listen intently, then guide from aesthetic sensitivity and extensive experience, to create unique landscapes no matter how large or small, of timeless beauty, sophistication and individuality.

Ours is initially a scientific approach of inventory, programming and analysis to determine the opportunities and constraints of any site.  Technical scientific expertise becomes the framework for artistry and unique solutions.

We are passionate about our design and execution, and about providing the highest level of service for our clients.

Educated in Europe and with a strong international background and experience, Richard Wanberg worked for a prestigious International Landscape Architecture firm for over 12 years before founding his own company in Marin County.  His portfolio includes residential and private estates throughout the Bay Area as well as resort work and wineries in the Napa Valley. Internationally, he has worked extensively throughout Mexico as well as historical castle renovation in The Netherlands, residential work in Norway, Germany, and Italy and boutique hotels and resorts in the Caribbean.

Insistent that good design is not exclusive to large estates and resorts, Richard welcomes opportunities to create landscapes for residences and projects of all sizes and budgets.

Richard Wanberg is an enthusiastic plants man, equally passionate about native plant communities, tropical plants and palms, edible landscaping, and sustainability. He lives in San Anselmo, California where he cultivates a garden of bananas, macadamias, gingers, mountain coconut palms, guavas and papayas.
